I’m a bit confused about how you get the code and apply it to your phone. Another guide said you had to provide a 15 digit number to get the code applied to your phone. Is that the case here? I didn’t see anything about that in the listing info. Thanks,

    • Yes, you need to send them your IMEI number to get your phone unlocked. You can find that number by going to (Settings – General – About). That number is what the unlocker needs to apply the unlock update to your phone.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

How do the unlockers actually do it though? I mean there seems to be so many of them out there.

    • TheBrownCurry

      GD,

They get the unlock codes/requests from a master database, which Apple controls. Which is why iTunes is used to unlock the phone, so it’s like it came factory unlocked.

What if I have recently bought a iphone 3 from a friend, would this process still work?

    • TheBrownCurry

      Tp,

      Yes it will work.

I bought an iphone 3g which is locked to AT&T (that was seller said) when I turned on it says need to activate can you help me with this?
    thanks,
    downunder

    • TheBrownCurry

      Downunder,

Because the phone is locked to AT&T you need to put in a AT&T sim to be able to activate the phone, after you do that you can unlock the phone or use the AT&T service from the sim.

I’ve been trying to jailbreak my iPhone 5 for a while, and I just ordered one of the codes, I’m crossing my fingers and hoping it works. How long does it usually take to find out if they’ve unlocked it?

    • TheBrownCurry

      Chuck,

It’s usually within 24 hours, most of the time within a few hours.

The prices are through the roof and swiftunlocker isnt up and running either; 2 dollars isnt an accurate price at all anymore.
